As your voice on the City Council, I've worked hard to serve you. I'm your financial watchdog, your voice of common sense. I alone opposed the misguided 911 fee. I opposed big salary and pension increases we couldn't afford without raising taxes. When you elected me, you wanted stronger leadership and integrity. You wanted better management. You got it.

We've adopted performance-based management. Our employees are more productive and accountable. We budget for outcomes and get more for your money. Developers pay their fair share, but we are more sensitive to community needs and wishes. Because I've led the way on these things, we were able to cut our expenses by over $11,000,000 and balance our budget in recession.
